Though we serve a wide variety of dishes in our restaurants, our specialty is Cocido Madrileño, a madrilenian, chick-pea based stew. The Taberna de la Daniela is known by locals to be one of the best restaurants to enjoy this traditional dish. The cocido consists of three courses; a broth, chickpeas and vegetables, and a variety of meats. Some prefer to eat each course seperately, and other enjoys mixing the three courses to create a stew. We´ll leave that choice to you.
Tapas y raciones
Spain is known for it´s tapas, canapés and raciones, generally ordered and shared among the table – we call it picotear or tapear. At the Daniela you will find more than seventy different tapas, canapes and raciones, all tradicional and freshly prepared, making the Daniela a great restaurant to try a wide variety of tipical Spanish dishes and to enjoy a Spanish “picoteo” experience.
Carnes y pescados
Those who want a more serious dish can resort to our meat and fish menu. We recommend the Secreto Iberico (which translates as the Iberian Secret), a cut of meat prepared over a hot griddle giving it a great flavour. Locals love our Bacalao al Pil-Pil, codfish with pil-pil sauce.
The best way to finish a meal at the Daniela is with one of our home-made deserts. Our tartín de manzana, an apple pie, and arroz con leche, or sweet rice pudding, are our top-sellers.
